During the past 2 decades the Advanced Imaging and Visualization Laboratory at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has paved the way for innovative underwater camera technology for the deep sea. Evan Kovacs has been working with AIVL for nearly 7 years developing and building cameras systems and then taking these systems out in the field filming for countless science and documentary expeditions. In recent years the lab has become synonymous with underwater 3D imaging and this presentation will showcase the underwater 3D Evan and his team have captured over the years. The footage, captured using all manner of submarines, ROV"s and technical diving throughout the world, will span the reefs of the Caribbean and the Pacific, look at famous wrecks such as Titanic and the guns of the USS Arizona, and some beautifully preserved wrecks in the Great Lakes, Deep ocean volcanoes, lost submarines and even beautiful underwater caves. This is a unique presentation with rare footage that is not frequently shown that will get you excited to get in the water and show the how 3D can really bring a subject and place alive.
