About Jon Kieren
Jon Kieren is a renowned cave, technical, and CCR instructor/instructor trainer who has dedicated his career over the past 11 years to improving dive training globally. As an active TDI/IANTD/NSS-CDS and GUE Instructor, TDI Training Advisory Panel member, and former training director for TDI, he has vast experience working with divers and instructors at all levels and all capacities. His previous work at the training agency level included managing quality assurance issues, accident/incident reports, and course development. He also has several years of experience working in a resort area in the Caribbean. These varied experiences, along with his current activity training cave and technical divers and instructors around the world, give him a unique perspective into the current state of dive training; what works, what doesn’t, and where we go from here to create a strong, sustainable, and FUN community of technical divers around the globe.
In his own personal diving, Jon’s true passions are deep extended range cave dives (the more deco the better), as well as working with photographers to bring back images of his favorite places to share with the world. And least relevant, but most importantly, he is well known for being able to consume his own body weight in tacos in one sitting.
